Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory control, merchandising, and store operations. The role focuses on maintaining in-stock levels, customer service excellence, and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities include assisting with recruiting, opening/closing duties, and ensuring financial integrity through cash handling and deposits. Prior retail experience and strong organizational skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and pricing according to established practices.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and store controls.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in the absence of the store manager.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
