The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position through a 16-week, self-paced, collaborative training. The program offers virtual and hands-on learning experiences, supported by your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key skills for this role include:

  1. Effective verbal and written communication to support and lead your team.
  2. Customer care duties to ensure high service levels.
  3. Execution of merchandising strategies to support sales growth.
  4. Management of store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.

Our expectations for SMITs are:

  1. Active engagement in Key Learning Experiences and support during the program.
  2. Supporting store management and leading in line with CVS values and policies.
  3. Engaging colleagues to support the company's purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
  4. Willingness to accept promotion roles within the market.

Note: Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager. Promotion depends on performance, availability, and other factors. Candidates must be willing to accept a Store Manager role at any location within the designated market and be able to transfer as needed. A high school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Relevant work or retail management experience is also considered.
