Role Overview

The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. Over 16 weeks, you'll participate in self-paced, collaborative training with virtual and hands-on learning experiences to develop your leadership skills. Support for your growth includes your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key Skills and Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to lead your team.
  • Perform customer care duties to ensure high service levels.
  • Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  • Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
Expectations for SMITs
  • Engage actively with your leader in Key Learning Experiences supporting your promotion path.
  • Support store operations as a management team member, aligned with CVS values and policies.
  • Engage colleagues in supporting the company's purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
  • Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market.
  • Willingness to transfer to other CVS stores within the market and work varying schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED (required).
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  • Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
