Job description

The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. The SMIT program aims to enhance your career as a future store leader through a self-paced, collaborative training over 16 weeks, offering virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Your support team includes your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach. Key skills for this role include:

  • Verbal and written communication skills to support and lead your team.
  • Customer care duties to ensure high service levels.
  • Executing merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  • Managing store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.

We expect SMITs to:

  • Engage actively with your leader in Key Learning Experiences to support your promotion path during the program.
  • Support your store as a management team member, aligning with CVS values and policies.
  • Engage colleagues to support the company's purpose of 'helping people on their path to better health.'
  • Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market.

Required qualifications include:

  • High School diploma or GED (a college degree is preferred or relevant work experience may suffice).
  • Willingness to accept promotion to Store Manager at any location within the market.
  • Ability to transfer to other CVS stores within the market.
  • Ability to work a variable schedule based on business needs.
