Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in supervision, staffing, inventory, and merchandising, ensuring store needs are met while developing external candidates for the Store Manager role. You will participate in opening/closing, cash controls, and daily paperwork.

Ideal candidates will have retail experience, strong communication, and basic math skills, with preference for bilingual Spanish speakers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to recruit and staff as needed.
• Familiar with store procedures, safety and compliance practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging, stocking and pricing of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management, including damages and markdowns.
• Follow prescribed ordering to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide leadership in customer service and store operations.
• Operate store in the manager's absence and review operating statements for trends.
