Job summary

Qualifications

• Read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages).
• Know cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Learn and operate IBM cash register functions to generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and programs (deposits, store keys, SAFE and STARS).
• Recruit, interview, hire, counsel, and terminate practices including legal compliance and internal processes.
• Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Some locations may give preference to bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by facilitating staging, stocking and pricing according to established practices and manager direction.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies as outlined in the employee handbook and SOP manual.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of all company funds in the designated bank.
• Assist in maintaining financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment for customers and employees.
• Operate store in the manager’s absence.
• Review operating statements for trends, expenses, and inventory turnover; identify opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
