Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory, merchandising, and financial controls. You will help recruit, train, and supervise staff while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to company policies.

This role involves opening/closing the store, monitoring in-stock targets, and maintaining a safe, well-organized shopping environment. Some travel to nearby stores may be required.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting documents, safety rules, and SOPs.
• Basic math, including percentages, required for reporting.
• Cash handling, cashier accountability and deposits.
• Experience using IBM/ POS register functions to generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Understanding cash, safety controls and store security.
• Recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding processes.
• Effective oral and written communication and teamwork.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to solve varied problems with limited standardization.
• Preference for bilingual Spanish speakers at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Support merchandising through staging, stocking and pricing.
• Assist in inventory management and store controls.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Model company procedures and policies as outlined in handbooks.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure proper deposits and cash controls.
• Maintain clean, safe stores and environment for customers and staff.
• Operate store in manager's absence and review operating statements.
• Complete paperwork and documentation within deadlines.
