The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. The SMIT program aims to enhance your career as a future store leader through a self-paced, collaborative training over 16 weeks, including virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Support for your growth includes your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key skills needed for this role include:

  1. Verbal and written communication skills to support and lead your team.
  2. Customer care duties to ensure high service levels.
  3. Executing merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  4. Managing store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.

We expect our SMITs to:

  1. Engage actively with your leader during Key Learning Experiences to support your promotion path.
  2. Support your store as a management team member, leading in accordance with CVS values and policies.
  3. Engage colleagues to support the company's purpose of 'helping people on their path to better health.'
  4. Be willing to accept promotion roles within your market.

Note: Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager; promotion depends on performance and availability. Candidates must be willing to accept a Store Manager role at any location within the market and transfer as needed. Schedule flexibility is required.

Minimum requirements include:

  1. High School diploma or GED (required).
  2. Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  3. Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
