The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. The program enhances your career as a future store leader through a self-paced, collaborative training over 16 weeks, including virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Support for your growth includes your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key skills needed:

  1. Effective verbal and written communication to lead your team.
  2. Customer care duties to ensure high service levels.
  3. Executing merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  4. Managing store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.

Expectations for SMITs:

  1. Engage actively with your leader during Key Learning Experiences.
  2. Support your store as a management team member, demonstrating CVS values and policies.
  3. Engage colleagues in supporting the company's purpose of "helping people on their path to better health."
  4. Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market.

Note:

  • Selection does not guarantee promotion; performance and openings are factors.
  • Willingness to accept a Store Manager promotion at any location in the market.
  • Ability to transfer within CVS stores in the market.
  • Flexible work schedule based on business needs.

Minimum qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED (required).
