Job summary

Dollar General Corporation stores are seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, supervision of staff, inventory, stocking, and store needs. This role is a development path toward a future Store Manager position and is limited in duration.

You will participate in recruiting, merchandising, inventory management, cash handling, and policy compliance while maintaining a safe, well-organized store environment and delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to recruit, hire and train qualified applicants.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Familiarity with inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Knowledge of safety and operating policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and recordkeeping.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify business trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines.
