The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. This 16-week, self-paced, collaborative training includes virtual and hands-on learning experiences to develop your leadership skills. Support for your growth includes guidance from your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key skills for this role include:

  1. Effective verbal and written communication
  2. Customer service excellence
  3. Merchandising strategy execution
  4. Store inventory and asset management

Our expectations for SMITs are:

  1. Engage actively with leadership during the program
  2. Support store operations and lead in line with CVS values and policies
  3. Foster a team environment aligned with the company's purpose of helping people on their path to better health
  4. Be open to promotion opportunities within the market

Note: Selection does not guarantee promotion. Promotion depends on performance, availability, and other factors. Willingness to relocate within the market and work flexible schedules are required.

Minimum requirements include:

  • High School diploma or GED (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • Retail management experience or CVS supervisory experience
