Assist the store manager in areas of sales, appearance, and overall store operations. The objective is to receive hands-on training to prepare for a management position in another store or future location.

Essential Job Functions

1. Supervise professional and retail operations of the store and team members involved, including delivery, installer services, parts, and merchandising specialists.
2. Collaborate with district and store managers in recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging team members.
3. Communicate store updates and meetings to all team members.
4. Train new team members and handle performance evaluations, including recommending pay increases.
5. Assist in recruiting efforts, including scheduling interviews and evaluating candidates.
6. Support store safety and training initiatives, ensuring compliance and safety standards are met.
7. Make sales calls with or without the store manager, and potentially schedule weekly customer calls.
8. Support store operations as assigned, including fleet maintenance and store organization.
9. Learn to utilize electronic scheduling, clocking, payroll, and manage key components of gross profit, including monitoring returns, price matching, and reviewing KPIs and P&L statements.

Skills, Education, Knowledge, Experience, Abilities

Required:

• High School Diploma
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
• Completion of Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program
• Ability to quickly and accurately match numerical and alpha characters
• Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment, and systems

Desired:

• O’Reilly store and/or distribution center experience
• Completed O’Reilly management training program
• Advanced computer skills
• ASE Certification
• Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish
