Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking a Store Manager for our Shelby, OH location to oversee all store operations and build strong relationships with contractors and DIY customers. You will drive sales, manage inventory, and lead a team to deliver exceptional customer service while upholding company policies and profitability.

The role focuses on directing store strategy, training staff, and expanding outside and inside sales while maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Previous retail management experience, preferably in the building materials industry.
• Previous experience managing outside sales programs
• Proven track record in sales management, primarily dealing with contractors
• Ability to direct and train others effectively as a team leader
• Demonstrated ability to increase sales and profitability
• Well developed problem solving abilities and strong conflict resolution skills
• 5-10 years of experience in building materials, store operations, and sales

Responsibilities

• Store Operations: Manages and implements the overall direction of the store.
• Staff Management: Hiring, communication, motivation, discipline and other areas.
• Sales & Relationship Building: Grow outside, inside and installed sales programs; maintain relationships with customers.
• Knowledge & Training: Identify growth needs; complete orientation and safety training; promote career development.
