Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in overseeing store processes, staffing, inventory, merchandising, and customer service. This role develops external candidates for the Store Manager path and is planned for a limited period.

Responsibilities include recruitment support, merchandising, cycle counts, pricing, and loss prevention, ensuring safe, well-stocked stores and compliant operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• At least 1 year retail experience preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read diagrams, safety rules and procedures.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Bilingual Spanish may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging, signing and pricing of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in the store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify business trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
