Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in personnel supervision, inventory management, merchandising, and daily store operations. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

You will assist in staffing, ensure merchandise is presented properly, manage inventory, process orders, and maintain cash controls to protect company funds. Travel to other store locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents and procedures manuals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register functions and report generation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in staffing and recruiting activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stock presentation.
• Manage inventory including damages, markdowns, and shrink control.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and professional conduct.
• Support store opening/closing activities and cash deposits.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
