Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking and receiving, and handling store operations in a fast-paced retail environment.

This role focuses on developing external candidates for the Store Manager position, with a limited-term assignment and opportunity to contribute to store performance and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and pricing per manager direction.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and accurate reporting.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Perform store opening and closing activities.
