Job summary

AAFES is seeking a retail store manager to plan, direct, and oversee all aspects of store operations in Fort Greely, AK. The role focuses on merchandising, selling, stocking, promotions, and reordering goods while meeting financial goals and maintaining compliance with environmental and EPA guidelines.

The position requires 3 years of recent retail management experience or a Bachelor's degree plus 1 year of management experience, with on-site work critical to success.

Qualifications

• Fuel management compliance within three months of assuming position.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the operations of a retail branch store.
• Establishes financial goals to maximize sales, profit, SSR, productivity, turns, and inventory.
• Maintains compliance, as applicable, in loss prevention, accounting, money transfers, internal controls, environmental issues and EPA/environmental agencies/organizations policies.
• Evaluates and enhances customer service and customer satisfaction.
• Supervises, trains, develops, hires, and schedules associates for current positions and future growth.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Environmental regulations are stringent.As a volume-based position, grading is dependent on maintaining sales in accordance with published Volume Standards.
