General Purpose
Responsible for all aspects of Store operations, leading the entire store to meet company standards and best practices. Staff, train, and develop leadership to achieve sales and profit goals while maintaining a friendly shopping environment. Recruit, train, and develop Associates. Manage operations of Stockroom, Front End, and Sales Floor to ensure timely merchandise flow, proper receipt, and expense management.
Essential Functions
General Operating Requirements:
- Lead all company best practices and maximize productivity.
- Analyze store reports to evaluate expenses and performance.
- Address variances to standards with appropriate action plans.
- Ensure proper scheduling of associates.
- Accept special assignments from leadership.
- Manage payroll administration including punch edits, scheduling compliance, and reporting.
Organizational Development:
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop management and associates.
- Reduce turnover through training, motivation, and retention tools.
- Address personnel issues, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
Expense Control:
- Keep expenditures within budget.
- Control payroll hours and adjust to business trends.
Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment:
- Adhere to safety policies and ensure safety of staff and customers.
- Train associates on emergency procedures.
Customer Service:
- Treat all customers and staff with respect.
- Demonstrate professionalism and recognize staff achievements.
- Implement customer service and merchandise presentation programs.
Personal And Store Brand:
- Lead by example in professional appearance and store cleanliness.
- Represent the company brand positively.
Merchandise Processing and In-Store Marketing:
- Ensure timely merchandise recovery, sizing, and markdowns.
- Organize merchandise per guidelines.
Loss Prevention:
- Train staff on loss prevention programs.
- Safeguard confidential information and merchandise.
Competencies:
- Manage work processes, business acumen, talent building, collaboration, leadership, communication, and accountability.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 5+ years retail store management experience.
- High customer service standards.
- Leadership and motivational skills.
- Organizational and prioritization skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements/ADA:
- Use of store equipment.
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, lift over 25 lbs, and perform basic math.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct supervision of management and staff as needed.
