Job summary

Subdued, an Italian fashion brand with stores in Europe and the United States, seeks a Store Manager for its newest New York City location in Flatiron. You will drive sales, lead a diverse team, and ensure an exceptional customer experience aligned with Subdued’s brand standards.

Responsibilities include daily operations, inventory management, payroll alignment, and collaboration with Visual Merchandising for floor sets and launches. A passion for fashion and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Store Manager experience in fashion, apparel, or luxury retail.
• Proven track record of driving sales and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, and retaining talent.
• Ability to analyze business performance and take action based on results.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Subdued is an Italian fashion brand known for its trend-driven collections, unique in-store experience, and strong connection with our community. With stores across Europe and a growing presence in the United States, we are looking for a passionate and driven Store Manager to lead our newest New York City location in Flatiron.

Position Overview

The Store Manager is responsible for the overall success of the store, including sales performance, team leadership, customer experience, visual standards, inventory management, and daily operations. This individual will lead by example on the sales floor, develop a high-performing team, and create an environment that reflects the Subdued brand and culture.

Leadership & Team Development

• Recruitment, hire, onboard, and develop a high-performing store team
• Lead, coach, and motivate Assistant Managers, Leads, Stylists, and Stock Associates
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and customer-focused culture
• Conduct regular performance conversations and provide ongoing feedback
• Create development plans and support internal growth opportunities
• Ensure scheduling aligns with business needs and payroll goals

Sales & Business Performance

• Drive sales results and achieve store KPI's
• Analyze business trends and identify opportunities to improve performance
• Monitor productivity, conversion, average transaction value, units per transaction, and other key metrics
• Execute action plans to achieve sales and operational goals
• Maintain accountability for payroll and controllable expenses

Customer Experience

• Deliver an exceptional customer experience that reflects the Subdued brand
• Lead by example through active selling and client engagement
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and effectively
• Ensure all team members provide outstanding service and product knowledge

Operations & Inventory

• Oversee daily store operations, opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and loss prevention
• Ensure accurate inventory management and stock organization
• Partner with the stock team to maintain inventory accuracy and support replenishment
• Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Ensure the store is always clean, organized, and operationally excellent
• Maintain brand standards and visual presentation throughout the store.
• Partner with Visual Merchandising to execute floor sets, product launches, and seasonal initiatives
• Ensure merchandise is presented in a way that maximizes sales opportunities

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Store Manager experience in fashion, apparel, specialty retail, or luxury retail
• Proven track record of driving sales and developing high-performing teams
• Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills
• Experience recruiting, hiring, and retaining talent
• Ability to analyze business performance and take action based on results
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
