Position: Manager
Reports to: District Supervisor
Purpose of Position: Direct the day-to-day operation of an assigned Par Mar Store in a manner that exceeds Company Goals and Expectations of Total Quality Service to our Guests. Maintain the store in alignment with Par Mar Stores Image Standards. The Store Manager is responsible for supporting and guiding employees to ensure excellent customer service.
- Availability: The Store Manager must be available at all times for emergencies, customer concerns, and incidents at the store. When off-site, they must be reachable by phone. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends during training of new Assistant Managers is required.
- Driving on Company Business: Maintain a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance for any vehicle used for company duties. This is a requirement for the position, acknowledged via a signed “Statement of Understanding”.
- Safety: Enforce all safety measures to protect assets, employees, and Guests. Report injuries immediately with proper documentation and communicate with Supervision and HR for claims processing.
- Guests: Greet and acknowledge Guests courteously. Ensure all employees do the same. Aim for high Guest satisfaction through prompt and knowledgeable service. Address complaints professionally and escalate when necessary.
- Image: Maintain a professional store atmosphere aligning with Company Standards. Address dress code infractions promptly. Ensure the store exterior and interior are clean, attractive, and orderly daily.
- Training: Enhance personal knowledge through ongoing training. Train employees according to company policies, utilizing tools such as the “Manager’s Redbook”.
- Employee Development: Set and review employee goals, promote career growth, and recognize performance that exceeds standards.
- Compliance: Follow all applicable laws and company policies, including regulations on tobacco, alcohol, and safety. Enforce policies consistently.
- Loss Prevention: Follow loss prevention procedures, conduct inventory counts accurately, and investigate discrepancies to prevent theft and loss.
- Promotions and Community Engagement: Support store promotions, community events, and company branding efforts.
- Food Service: Oversee food department operations, ensuring compliance with health standards, proper inventory, and quality service.
- Merchandise and Vendor Procedures: Ensure proper receiving and vendor practices to protect assets and support customer satisfaction.

- Ability to stand for 8-10 hours on hard surfaces.
- Lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs, and work in cold environments.
- Use of ladders, bending, reaching, and handling various items.
- Corrected hearing and vision to perform job duties effectively.
- Environmental awareness of odors, dust, fumes, and temperature variations.
- Dexterity for repetitive tasks and safe operation of equipment.
- Ability to respond calmly in stressful or emergency situations.
- No impairments from drugs or alcohol affecting job performance.
