The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the general operations of the store, creating, and implementing a store sales strategy to maximize sales, and providing a wonderful & cheerful customer experience to all customers. In addition, he/she will manage the store team and help align associates around our corporate values/mission. The Store Manager will be responsible for operational tasks such as opening/closing, inventory management, loss prevention, payroll & scheduling, and visual merchandising. They will also focus on achieving store objectives, maintaining KPIs, developing the team, and ensuring adherence to all company policies & procedures. The Store Manager is expected to model effective sales techniques and manage the customer experience on the sales floor.
Responsibilities:
- Achieve and exceed productivity and sales plan expectations.
- Improve profitability by managing controllable expenses such as payroll, supplies, and shrinkage.
- Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service and sales efforts on the selling floor.
- Teach and monitor store operations, policies, and procedures to associates.
- Recruit, train, motivate, and retain quality sales associates.
- Set clear goals and communicate expectations by defining success metrics for each area of the business.
- Conduct monthly performance reviews with each associate, providing coaching and improvement suggestions, with documentation as needed.
- Maintain high standards of visual merchandising and store cleanliness.
- Perform daily paperwork reconciliation and other operational tasks.
- Protect store assets and inventory, reconcile inventory to reduce shrinkage.
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least one year of retail management experience; knowledge of local market and clientele is a plus.
- Multilingual abilities are advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of specialty retail, including business development, visual merchandising, and store operations.
- Proficiency in retail POS systems, Word, Excel, and email.
- Ability to lift, carry, or move objects weighing up to 15 pounds, and use ladders or stairs.
- Strong leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to delegate responsibilities effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey company goals and objectives.
- A positive, outgoing, high-energy personality with an entrepreneurial mindset, sales focus, and full ownership of the store’s business.
- Mentorship and leadership qualities to develop staff and peers, with the ability to identify opportunities for growth.
- Ability to teach customer service, selling, and operational skills.
