Responsibilities
- Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters. Manages the front end of the store and makes recommendations on the overall operations of the Pharmacy and Retail Store.
- Supports Store Manager in overall store operations to achieve company goals; works alternate schedule with minimal overlap; assumes responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Leads and manages store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline to ensure team engagement and performance.
- Ensures proper merchandising, protection of store assets, and enhances sales and profitability.
Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients, greets them, offers assistance, resolves complaints, and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Monitors customer service, provides coaching and training, and develops improvement plans.
- Focuses on improving customer service metrics and building customer loyalty.
Operations
- Supervises store operations, including task delegation, shift management, and scheduling.
- Collaborates with external partners and supports community outreach initiatives.
- Uses data and team input to make informed decisions and monitor impact.
- Manages cash handling, inventory, store cleanliness, safety, and compliance with laws and policies.
Business Performance Management
- Analyzes financial and performance data to create action plans for store improvement.
- Supports pharmacy during busy periods as needed.
People & Performance Management
- Leads and trains team members, manages performance, and recruits talent.
- Establishes a culture of accountability and manages disciplinary actions.
Training & Personal Development
- Completes Store Manager training programs and maintains required certifications.
- Engages in self-development and seeks feedback.
- Obtains and maintains a pharmacy technician license if required.
Communications
- Maintains open communication with team members and assists in strategic planning.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; or completion of Walgreens Community Internship Program; or High School Diploma/GED with two years of supervisory experience.
- Leadership skills, business ethics, motivation, and communication skills.
- Completion or willingness to complete Walgreens leadership training.
- Fluency in English; flexible work schedule; willingness to relocate or transfer within the area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Management experience, including supervising others and managing both front-end and pharmacy.
- Retail or food industry experience preferred for external candidates.
