Job summary

JC Licht is hiring Management Trainees at our Geneva location to lead store operations, HR, and sales. The role focuses on growth, customer service, and a strong team environment at a full-service paint, hardware, and decorating retailer with Benjamin Moore products.

The program monitors profitability, recruits and trains staff, and drives merchandising and inventory controls while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Requires a two or four year college degree or equivalent work experience.
• Effective financial planning and management skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Minimum of 2 years retail experience, preferably industry related.
• Background in inside sales a plus.
• Job involves bending, lifting, and sitting.
• Individual must be able to lift at least 50 pounds; up to 50 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Active involvement in recruitment, selection, and hiring of store team members.
• Develop training programs and ensure product knowledge.
• Ensure employees deliver excellent customer service.
• Maintain a viable, team-oriented work environment via good communication.
• Ensure proper staffing and supervise employees.
• Conduct periodic performance reviews and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Comply with federal/state regulations and company policies.
• Monitor inventory, control losses, and manage expenses.
• Open/close the store per policy and complete reports timely.
• Maintain merchandising standards and assist with stocking and delivery.
