Job summary

JC Licht is seeking a Store Manager for the Lake Bluff location to oversee daily operations, profitability and staff performance. You will recruit and train team members, ensure product knowledge, and uphold high standards of customer service while managing inventory and expenses.

The role requires leadership, a college degree or equivalent experience, and at least 2 years in retail management, preferably in paint/coatings. Expect a 45–50 hour week and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• Requires a two or four year college degree or equivalent work experience.
• Requires prior management experience in a retail or sales environment.
• Requires prior experience in paint and/or coatings products.
• Strong financial planning and management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication abilities.
• Minimum of 2 years retail experience, preferably industry related.
• Experience in inside sales is a plus.
• Job involves bending, lifting, and sitting; must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Average workweek is 45–50 hours.

Responsibilities

• Monitor operations and profitability of the store.
• Provide support to the store as required.
• Recruit, select, and hire store team members.
• Develop training programs; ensure product knowledge.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain merchandising standards.
• Supervise, coach, and conduct performance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with ADA, EEOC, workers comp, harassment laws, and company policies.
• Manage inventory, control expenses, and handle open/close procedures.
• Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
