Job summary

ShopRite is seeking a part-time Maintenance Associate at our Nutley, NJ location. You will perform cleaning and janitorial duties across the store, maintain sanitary facilities, and ensure a clean, attractive environment for customers and staff.

This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and teamwork while supporting store operations. The position requires physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work various shifts in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Able to stand or walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Regularly lift 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Tolerate dust and cleaning agents during duties.
• Interact with customers in a friendly, helpful manner.
• Work cooperatively with others and follow schedules.
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash and recycling as prescribed by management.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms and restrooms.
• Replenish paper and soap supplies as needed.
• Clean floors and surfaces per store procedures and schedules.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and request replacements.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate activities with other associates for productivity.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment.
• Greet customers and provide prompt service.
• Adhere to store rules, policies, and safety guidelines.
