Job summary

ShopRite of Freehold in Freehold, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Associate to deliver friendly customer service while performing janitorial duties store-wide. The role emphasizes cleaning, safety, and efficient operation of the store environment.

The position requires standing for long periods, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and the willingness to work varied shifts in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English.
• Stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Regularly lift up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
• Tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties.
• Interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Adhere to time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Empty all trash and recycling containers as prescribed by Store Management.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms including all plumbing fixtures as prescribed by Store Management.
• Replenish paper and soap supplies in all restrooms as required.
• Clean, mop, sweep, scrub, strip, wax, buff or vacuum floor areas as designated by Store Management or procedures.
• Clean Associate break and lunch areas.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and submit purchase orders or requests as prescribed.
• Operate equipment with safeguards in place and in good condition.
• Observe security standards and report any abnormal behavior to Management or Security.
• Check prices and know item locations in the store.
• Regularly lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise weighing 25 lbs. and occasionally 50 lbs.
• Maintain security of doors and entrances when handling trash and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Greet Customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Coordinate activities with other Associates for productivity.
• Dress and groom per Company policy and shift requirements.
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance; work overtime as needed.
