Job summary

ShopRite of Perth Amboy, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Associate to perform janitorial duties and provide a clean, safe shopping environment. You will deliver friendly service, operate cleaning equipment, and maintain floors, bathrooms, and common areas under Store Management guidance.

Hourly pay starts at $16 per hour. The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and the ability to work with customers. Training and safety policies apply to all duties.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and occasionally 50 lbs.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Must be 18 years or older to operate certain equipment.
• Must comply with time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash and recycling containers.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
• Replenish paper and soap in restrooms.
• Clean, mop, sweep, scrub, wax, buff or vacuum floors.
• Clean associate break and lunch areas.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Operate equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Greet customers and provide courteous service.
• Report security concerns as needed.
