Job summary

ShopRite of Columbia Park in North Bergen, NJ is hiring a Store Detective (Inserra NJ) to help protect assets and provide a safe shopping environment. The role trains in loss prevention procedures and requires alertness, teamwork, and reliable attendance.

You will monitor CCTV and perform store observations to detect theft, cooperate with store management, and stand for long shifts while lifting up to 50 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak English.
• Stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
• Tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine duties.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to travel to various store locations, if applicable.
• Interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Follow all time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Loss Prevention reporting and applications to identify and minimize loss.
• Detect and apprehend Customers, Associates, and Vendors for theft in a professional manner.
• Represent the Company in criminal actions as result of apprehensions.
• Participate in special investigations when assigned.
• Coordinate with Store Management and Loss Prevention Specialist to address vulnerabilities.
• Be knowledgeable of departmental procedures to detect policy violations.
• Observe security standards and report abnormal behavior to Store Management.
• Regularly lift and move merchandise up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain security of entrances and a clean, safe environment.
