Job summary

ShopRite of Hoboken is seeking a Store Detective to help protect assets and ensure a safe shopping environment. The role involves detecting theft, using loss prevention tools, and maintaining security across assigned stores.

The position requires strong English communication, ability to stand for long periods, and the stamina to lift up to 50 lbs. It is a part-time, on-site role with benefits available for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze and understand English.
• Ability to stand or walk for the duration of a shift.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs as needed.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and dusty environments.
• Ability to travel to store locations if applicable.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly manner.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to adhere to schedules and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Loss Prevention tools to identify and minimize loss and shrink.
• Detain and apprehend individuals for theft in a professional manner per policy and law.
• Represent the company in criminal actions as needed.
• Participate in investigations and report vulnerabilities to management.
• Maintain security standards and communicate findings to Store Management.
• Observe and enforce store rules, safety policies, and security procedures.
