Job summary

ShopRite is seeking a Store Detective in Nutley, NJ to deliver a safe, customer-focused shopping experience while protecting company assets. You will use loss prevention tools to detect theft, observe store activity, and coordinate with management and associates to prevent loss.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, flexible hours, and the willingness to travel between store locations as needed.

Qualifications

• English reading and writing proficiency required.
• Ability to stand/walk for the full shift and perform physical duties.
• May lift 25–50 lbs and tolerate dusty/cleaning environments.
• Flexibility to travel to various store locations if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Utilize loss prevention systems to identify and minimize loss and shrink.
• Detect and apprehend customers, associates, and vendors for theft in a professional manner.
• Represent the company in criminal actions as a result of apprehensions.
• Participate in investigations and report vulnerabilities to store management.
• Maintain security of entrances and observe store rules and safety policies.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Work cooperatively with others and adhere to schedules and policies.
• Perform duties in accordance with safety and HAZCOM guidelines.
