Job summary

ShopRite of Heritage Plaza in South Brunswick, NJ is seeking a Store Detective to protect assets and ensure a safe shopping environment. The role involves detecting theft, monitoring with CCTV, and delivering a great customer experience.

Candidates must be able to stand for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, communicate effectively, and work with store teams. The position offers vision, dental, life insurance, and a legal plan as part of the benefits package.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during housekeeping.
• Ability to travel to other store locations if applicable.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work all assigned work schedules and follow attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Loss Prevention reporting and applications to identify and minimize loss
• Detect and apprehend customers, associates, and vendors for theft as directed
• Represent the company in criminal actions as a result of apprehensions
• Participate in special investigations when assigned
• Highlight loss vulnerabilities to store management with recommendations
• Maintain security standards and report abnormal customer behavior
• Observe and enforce store security and safety policies
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work/shopping environment
