Job summary

ShopRite Inserra NJ is seeking a Store Detective to deter theft, protect assets, and ensure a safe shopping environment. The role focuses on loss prevention, observing store activity, and delivering customer service with vigilance.

You will operate Loss Prevention tools and CCTV, coordinate with management, and participate in investigations while maintaining store security and safety across shifts. This is a part-time, non-union position with potential eligibility for benefits.

Qualifications

• English reading, writing, speaking required.
• Stand/walk for entire shift.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Tolerate dust and cleaning agents during housekeeping.
• Work in varying temperatures.
• Able to travel to store locations as needed.
• Interact with customers in a friendly manner.
• Work cooperatively with others and be reliable.
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
• Flexible to overtime and varied schedules.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Loss Prevention tools to identify and minimize loss.
• Detect and apprehend customers, associates, and vendors for theft per policy.
• Represent the company in criminal actions when needed.
• Participate in special investigations as assigned.
• Report vulnerabilities and recommendations to management.
• Maintain knowledge of departmental procedures to detect policy violations.
• Coordinate activities to maximize productivity and security.
• Observe security standards and report abnormal behavior.
• Regularly handle and rotate merchandise safely (25-50 lbs).
• Maintain a secure store environment and communicate with management.
