Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors in North Carolina is seeking a Logistics Manager to drive the store's day-to-day operational rhythm and ensure a seamless customer experience. You will lead logistics, merchandising, and receiving with a sharp focus on inventory flow, safety, and execution excellence.

You will analyze performance, identify opportunities, and implement solutions that boost productivity and efficiency while balancing staffing, training, and payroll.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant leadership or management experience.
• Experience leading departments up to 40 team members with strong operational excellence.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills to develop people.
• Ability to interpret operational and financial data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with inventory systems, order processing, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to complete and maintain required certifications, including Firearms Sales and Power Industrial Truck.
• Ability to manage firearm sales and ensure compliance with ATF Form 4473 and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Drive day-to-day operational rhythm of the store to support seamless customer experience.
• Lead logistics, merchandising, and receiving operations with a focus on inventory flow, safety, and execution excellence.
• Analyze operational performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions.
• Balance workforce planning, scheduling, training, and payroll while maintaining standards.
• Collaborate with Store Director and store leaders to align priorities and support a culture of trust and continuous improvement.
• Coach and support Team Leads and Team Members across Logistics, Merchandising, and Receiving.
