Job summary

Dollar General in Missouri is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support store operations, supervise staff, manage inventory and receiving, and handle paperwork. This temporary role develops an external candidate for the Store Manager position.

The candidate will assist with staffing, merchandising, cash controls, opening/closing procedures, and customer service leadership, while upholding company policies in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of leadership or managerial experience.
• Retail grocery experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to recruit, hire, and develop staff.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising by facilitating staging, stocking and pricing of merchandise.
• Assists in all aspects of inventory management including damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Follows prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Acts as a role model by following Company procedures and policies.
• Participates in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensures the safe deposit of all Company funds in the designated bank.
• Assists in ensuring financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash controls.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operates store in manager’s absence.
• Reviews operating statements to identify business trends and opportunities.
• Completes all paperwork and documentation on guidelines.
