Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing, inventory, merchandising, and customer service excellence at our Missouri location. The role is to develop external candidates for the Store Manager path and is limited in duration.

You will help supervise employees, follow procedures, open/close the store, and ensure accurate cash handling and records while maintaining a safe, well-stocked store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Ability to learn and perform IBM cash register functions, including generating reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking and proper pricing.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and store controls.
• Follow prescribed ordering to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies as outlined in manuals.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of all company funds and cash control compliance.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operate store in the manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
