Job summary

Cavender’s is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our Store Management Team in Texas. You will support culture, drive sales, supervise associates, and help lead daily operations including opening/closing, training, and customer service excellence.

You will coach employees, meet sales goals, handle customer issues, and ensure the store remains clean, organized, and compliant with company policies. This role emphasizes leadership, risk management, and delivering a Best of the WEST

Qualifications

• Proven ability to sell product and manage a retail department.
• Proven ability to drive results, develop talent, excel in customer service and exercise sound decision making.
• Ability to comprehend basic instructions, interpret documents and apply abstract principles to a wide range of complex tasks.
• Associate must be able to read English.
• Associate must be able to understand English.
• Associate must be able to stay alert and productive during work hours assigned.

Responsibilities

• Support the Cavender’s Culture and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Maintain active role in personal selling, meeting or exceeding sales per hour goals.
• Be able to perform the tasks of and train all other associate positions in the store (Cashier, Sales Associate, Key).
• Act as Manager on Duty as assigned.
• Assist in the day-to-day management of the retail store and the supervision of store associates to deliver Best of the WEST customer service and drive sales.
• Open and close store as directed.
• Address customer complaints.
• Handle returns and exchanges.
• Handle associate assignments and concerns.
• Assist in the effort to increase sales, maintain profit, and reduce controllable expenses using key metrics.
• Serve as a product expert and lead the training of store associates, coaching them on sales techniques, product knowledge and company expectations.
• Contribute to a safe and secure store environment and report safety incidents promptly.
• Understand and execute all company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.
• Lead Loss Prevention measures in the store.
• Lead and support team members to deliver Best of the WEST customer service to drive sales, keep the store well-stocked, organized and running smoothly.
