Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to help maintain a clean, customer-first store environment. You will assist customers, handle cash transactions, stock shelves, and support store leadership in managing daily operations.

The role includes opening/closing duties, merchandising, and ensuring planogram compliance while upholding safety and efficiency standards in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Customer service leadership and effective communication.
• Understanding of safety policies and practical store safety knowledge.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform basic math and cash handling duties.
• Experience with cash registers and cashier accountability procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and help customers.
• Operate cash register, scan items, collect payment, bag merchandise and help customers.
• Receive, unpack, stock, rotate merchandise and assist in displays.
• Maintain store cleanliness including floors, restrooms and stock area.
• Assist in planogram implementation and store branding.
• Open/close the store under direction of Store Manager.
• Perform duties in the absence of Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
