Job summary

Macy's invites motivated students to join its nationwide on-site Store Management Internship Program, a fast-paced 8-week experience spanning June to August 2027. You will work with managers across Sales, Operations, and Visual Merchandising to gain practical leadership exposure, merchandising insights, and everyday store leadership skills.

You’ll be mentored by leaders, receive constructive feedback, and participate in a final project/presentation.

Qualifications

• Junior year student pursuing a bachelor’s degree and maintaining a GPA around 3.0 or higher.
• Interest in retail management, customer experience, and leadership development.
• Willingness to learn through hands-on store operations, merchandising, and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales & Customer Experience leadership to learn leadership best practices.
• Shadow Operations and Visual Merchandising leaders to plan and execute product merchandising initiatives.
• Engage with leaders across business functions within your store and region.
• Develop a customer-focused selling environment by coaching teammates.
• Support daily store operations by training and guiding colleagues.
• Analyze trends with business partners to select merchandise meeting customer needs.
• Explore retail strategies by analyzing big-picture retail operations.
• Contribute to projects and present ideas for business growth.
