Uncle Giuseppe’s in New Jersey is seeking high-potential individuals for a Management Development (ASM) position, designed to train you into a Store Manager role through hands-on mentorship and exposure to all store functions.

You’ll gain experience across perishables, non-perishables, store operations, P&L, scheduling, training, merchandising, safety, and leadership, with opportunities to lead in the absence of the Store Manager and drive sales and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years in a busy grocery or retail environment.
• 3+ years as an Assistant Store Manager or similar leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of grocery store operations, including product rotation, staffing, scheduling, and safety standards.
• Proven track record of maintaining store excellence and team engagement.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in daily store operations and customer service.
• Participate in a structured Management Development Program to prepare for a Store Manager role.
• Train directly under the Store Manager to gain knowledge of key business functions (perishables, non-perishables, store operations, P&L, shrink).
• Develop understanding of financial performance, sales trends, expenses, and profitability.
• Supervise, coach, and motivate team members to meet performance standards and deliver a positive shopping experience.
• Assist with scheduling, labor planning, and timekeeping to ensure proper staffing levels.
• Monitor inventory, assist with ordering, and ensure proper merchandising and in-stock conditions.
• Uphold standards for merchandising, signage, cleanliness, and store presentation.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
• Support shrink reduction and loss prevention initiatives and drive sales.
• Step in to lead store operations in the absence of the Store Manager or other senior leaders.
• Handle customer inquiries and escalations professionally.
• Collaborate with department managers to improve processes, drive sales, and enhance team performance.
• Assist in training and onboarding new employees.
• Analyze reports and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
