Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Tennessee to assist with store supervision, merchandising, and cashiering duties. The role emphasizes customer-first leadership, inventory control, and adherence to company policies.

You will help schedule staff, train employees, maintain planograms, and support the Store Manager in daily operations to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Ability to read and follow procedures and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking, and rotating displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and assist with planograms and displays.
• Assist with cash handling, refunds, and deposits under store policies.
• Aid in managing the store in the Store Manager's absence.
