Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in supervising staff, inventory, merchandising, and store operations. The role focuses on developing external candidates for the Store Manager position on a limited-term basis.

You will participate in staffing, training, and enforcing company policies while maintaining store standards, financial integrity, and safety. Travel to multiple Dollar General locations may be involved.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and pricing; ensure proper stocking and presentation.
• Assist in inventory management including damages, markdowns, and scanning; conduct inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open and close the store as needed.
• Ensure cash handling and deposits are secure.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
