Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in executing store processes, supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking and receiving, and handling paperwork. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager path on a limited-term basis.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, cash handling, opening/closing, and ensuring a safe, well-organized store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise.
• Assist in inventory management and store controls.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Lead by example and follow company policies and procedures.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure cash handling accuracy and deposits.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operate store in the manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
