Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with opening/closing, organize merchandise, supervise associates, and ensure a clean, safe, and well-stocked store that meets company standards.

This role involves handling payroll and scheduling duties, processing directives, and maintaining promotional displays while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail/store management experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize merchandise and maintain seasonal areas in stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and store front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety guidelines and procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
