Job summary

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
• Ensures that the store is appropriately staffed and effectively opened and closed each day.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify business trends (including sales, profitability, and turn) and expense control opportunities.
• Orders to ensure meeting or exceeding in-stock targets; reviews ordering plan and inventory management issues weekly.
• Facilitates staging, stocking and storage of merchandise by following Company work processes.
• Ensures merchandise is presented according to established practices; utilizes fixtures including pricing and signage.
• Maintains accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Ensures the financial integrity of the store through cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Maintains a clean, well-organized store; ensures a safe and secure working and shopping environment.
• Ensures that the store is adequately equipped with tools necessary to perform required tasks.
• Follows Company policies and procedures; ensures employee compliance.
• Completes all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
