Job summary

The Hibbett I City Gear in Farmville, VA is seeking an Assistant Manager to help the Store Manager oversee daily operations, merchandising, and customer service. You will be knowledgeable across departments and uphold company policies while maintaining store standards and profitable store performance.

Responsibilities include assisting with scheduling, restocking, staff training, and developing action plans to meet store goals, while providing outstanding service and promoting merchandise

Qualifications

• Experience working in retail, preferably footwear or athletic apparel.
• Customer service experience and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced setting.
• Capable of assisting in recruiting, training and evaluating staff.
• Self-starter with initiative and attention to detail.
• Team-oriented and able to promote merchandise and services.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in controlling store assets and operations.
• Consult with Manager to plan selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering and scheduling.
• Cover store leadership in the Manager's absence.
• Support recruiting, training and evaluation of personnel.
• Provide guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics and expenses to drive profitability.
• Direct staff to meet department responsibilities and standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service and promote services and merchandise.
