Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead a busy retail operation. You will recruit, train, and supervise staff; manage inventory, pricing, and merchandising; and ensure fiscal integrity and customer service excellence. This role requires strong leadership, compliance with policies, and daily store oversight.

You will build a safe, organized environment, drive sales, and uphold company standards while coaching a team to meet in-store targets and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets diagrams, safety rules, and procedures.
• Performs basic math calculations for pricing, totals, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Familiarity with operating registers and report generation.
• Understanding of inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire and retain qualified employees in compliance with laws and policies.
• Provide training; conduct performance evaluations and improvements.
• Set pay rate recommendations and career progression.
• Communicate performance, safety, and policy expectations; lead meetings.
• Open/close store regularly and manage staffing coverage.
• Analyze sales, profitability, and inventory to optimize operations.
• Manage stock levels and order plans; supervise cycle counts.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing and signage adhere to standards.
• Maintain cash control and security procedures across the store.
• Lead customer service initiatives and maintain a welcoming environment.
