Job summary

Dollar General in Oklahoma seeks an experienced Store Manager to oversee all store operations, staffing, training, and compliance. You will lead hiring, coaching, and performance evaluations while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience in retail management or supervisory role is desirable.
• Prior knowledge of cash handling and POS reporting.
• Ability to recruit, train and evaluate staff while complying with laws.
• Familiarity with inventory and merchandising processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of legal employment practices including hiring and termination.
• Ability to supervise store security and cash controls.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training and performance evaluations; identify gaps for coaching or termination.
• Make recommendations on pay rate and advancement for staff.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and training.
• Ensure store opens/closes accurately and on time.
• Open the store at least twice weekly and close it at least twice weekly.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Review ordering plans and manage inventory to meet in-stock targets.
• Ensure proper merchandising, pricing and signage across fixtures.
• Maintain accurate inventory by controlling damages and write-offs.
• Maintain cashier accountability and cash handling procedures.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership and a safe store environment.
• Keep the store clean, organized, and well maintained.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available to perform duties.
• Adhere to SOPs and employee guidelines; complete paperwork on time.
