Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager in Oklahoma to lead all store operations, staffing, training, and policy compliance. You will drive sales, manage inventory and staffing, and ensure excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail setting.

The role requires oversight of opening/closing, scheduling, cash handling, and adherence to company procedures. Prior retail management experience and a high school diploma are preferred, with potential for advancement.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash registers to generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with staff and customers.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance.
• Familiarity with cash, facility and safety control policies (deposits, store keys, SAFE program).
• Good organization skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to problem-solve in varied situations; some locations may prefer bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees under federal and state laws and company policies.
• Provide training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; counsel up to termination.
• Make recommendations on employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open and close the store as scheduled, two times weekly minimum.
• Evaluate operating statements for sales, profitability and turn; review inventory issues weekly.
• Manage ordering to meet in-stock targets; review basic stock replenishment and cycle counts.
• Ensure proper merchandising, pricing, and signage; maintain inventory accuracy.
• Maintain cash handling accountability and security procedures.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and a clean, safe store environment.
• Ensure the store is equipped with necessary tools; follow SOPs and paperwork timelines.
