Qualifications

• Must read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register to generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices.
• Knowledge of cash, safety and facility control policies.
• Good organization with attention to detail.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred in certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per laws and policies.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, identify gaps and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Recommend pay rate and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Ensure store is staffed and opened/closed effectively.
• Open the store at least twice weekly and close at least twice weekly.
• Evaluate operating statements for sales, profitability and trends.
• Manage stock levels and inventory weekly; address BSR and cycle counts.
• Ensure merchandise presentation and pricing per standards.
• Maintain inventory controls and cash handling accuracy.
• Provide customer service leadership and maintain a safe, clean store.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and company policies; complete paperwork on time.
