Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure staff is properly staffed.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Recommend pay rates and advancement paths.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open and close the store as scheduled; personally open/close multiple times weekly.
• Analyze operating statements for trends, profitability and shrink.
• Review ordering plans to meet in-stock targets and manage inventory.
• Facilitate staging, stocking and storage following company processes.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing and signage meet standards.
• Maintain inventory levels and control damages and markdowns.
• Maintain cash accountability and security practices.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Keep store clean, safe and well-organized.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available to perform tasks.
• Follow SOPs and complete paperwork on deadlines.
